Come celebrate delicious Jewish food and culture with the Friedman Family Foundation Jewish Food & Culture Fest featuring the When Pigs Fly Kosher BBQ-Cook Off.
This year’s event is presented by the LJCC, Birmingham Jewish Federation, Temple Beth-El, Temple Emanu-El, Chabad of Alabama, and Knesseth Israel.
What to expect
This event will foster an appreciation for Jewish culture and traditions, and bring together the broader Jewish community.
Jews and friends of the Jewish community from across Birmingham will come together to enjoy a fun-filled day of delicious food, friendly competition, musical entertainment, and educational activities for all ages.
This year is made even more special as the 70th Anniversary of the birth of Israel is celebrated.

How much does it cost?
This event is free and open to the public. Food will be available for purchase.
Can I bring my pet?
Pets are welcome but must remain on a leash at all times.
Make a difference
Proceeds from purchases made during the event will benefit the Birmingham Jewish Federation, Levite Jewish Community Center, Temple Beth-El, Temple Emanu-El, Chabad of Alabama, and Knesseth Israel, all of which are 501(c)3 organizations.
Participate in the cook-off
To register your team for the When Pigs Fly Kosher BBQ Cook-Off, contact Jacob Halpern at 205.369.5151. Team registration is $360 and this includes all meat, grill, and utensils. Registration increases to $460 after March 6. Your team must be registered before March 27.
