Checklist for Sloss Fest 2018

The 2018 Sloss Music & Arts Festival will take place at the historic Sloss Furnaces in Birmingham on July 14 and 15.

You’ve already made your plans to attend. Now, make sure you pack all the festival essentials to have a rockin’ good time.

Here’s your checklist for Sloss Fest 2018!

1. Download the Sloss Fest app

Sloss App

The FREE Sloss Fest app will provide you with everything you need to know to make the most of your weekend at Sloss Fest. With the app, you can check out the full lineup, create your own schedule, and more. Don’t forget to enable push notifications to receive important updates before and during the festival.

2. Stay hydrated

Let’s face it. Alabama in July is HOT! Make sure you stay hydrated – especially if you’re boozin’ it up. Sloss provides water stations where you can refill your water bottle or water backpack. All containers must be empty when you enter the festival, but you can fill up as soon as you pass the security checkpoint.

3. Wear sunscreen

You’re not too cool to wear sunscreen! Make sure to slather SPF from head to toe and repeat as needed. When you’re picking out your cute festival wear remember to use sunscreen on exposed skin or you might get burnt, making the rest of the weekend just downright miserable.

4. Dress comfortably

Dress comfortably

Keep in mind that you will be on your feet for hours walking across dirt and gravel. We highly recommend that you wear comfortable shoes or thick sandals. Heels or boots might look adorable, but you want to choose comfort over fashion. You will thank us later.

5. Bring cash, ID and cards

Even if you’ve already paid for your tickets, you’ll want to make sure to bring a little extra money. There will be delicious food options and cool merch that you don’t want to miss out on getting. I mean, if you didn’t get the shirt did you even go to Sloss Fest?

6. Bring a portable phone charger

Portable phone

You don’t want your phone to die when all you want to do is take a group selfie. Bring a portable charger just in case your battery is low. Just make sure the portable charger is fully charged.

7. Bring towels or blankets

Don’t force yourself to stand all day. Bring a blanket and create your own chill zone.
