2019 Veterans Day Freebies and Discounts in Birmingham

Veterans Day freebies are a welcome gesture for veterans, service members and their families. From things to do, haircuts, free and discounted meals, there are plenty of special offers for the men and women in uniform. 2019 Veterans Day Restaurant Discounts

Applebee’s — Veterans and active-duty military receive a free meal from a limited menu, on November 11.

California Pizza KitchenVeterans and active-duty military receive a complimentary meal from a special menu on November 11.

Chick-fil-A Chick-fil-A restaurants in the Birmingham-area will offer a free Chick-fil-A Chicken Sandwich to all active military personnel and veterans (with valid military identification) from 10:30 a.m. to close on November 11.

Chicken Salad Chick — On November 11, veterans and active-duty military will receive a free Chick Special and Regular Drink.

Chili’s — Veterans and active military service members get a free meal from a select menu on November 11.

Cicis Pizza — Active and retired military get a free unlimited buffet on November 11.

Cracker Barrel — Veterans get a complimentary slice of Double Chocolate Fudge Coca-Cola Cake or a Pumpkin Pie Latte on November 11.

Golden Corral — Golden Corral Restaurants’ Military Appreciation Night free dinner will be available on November 11, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Military retirees, veterans, active-duty, National Guard and Reserves are all welcome.

Little Caesars — Veterans and active military members receive a free $5 HOT-N-READY Lunch Comb from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on November 11.

Logan’s Roadhouse — On November 11 between 3 and 6 pm, veterans and military personnel receive a free meal from the American Roadhouse menu.

Metro Diner — will offer 20 percent off to active and retired military with valid military ID on November 11. Diners can enjoy food ranging from Fried Chicken & Waffle, to the Pulled Pork Mac Stack, and the diner’s acclaimed Meatloaf Plate.

Mission BBQ — Veterans and active-duty military get a free sandwich and cake on November 11.

O’Charley’s Active-duty military and veterans can enjoy a free meal on November 11.

Red Robin Veterans and active-duty military get a free Tavern Double Burger with Bottomless Steak Fries on November 11.

Shoney’s — Veterans and active-duty military service members get a free All You Care To Eat, Freshly Prepared Breakfast Bar on November 11 until 11 am.

TCBY — Veterans and active military personnel get their first 6 oz. of frozen yogurt for free on November 11 with valid proof of service at participating locations.

Texas de Brazil — Veterans and active military personnel will receive 50% off regular dinner pricing. Valid for up to eight veterans/active military personnel per table, they’ll enjoy the full rodizio style menu including Texas de Brazil’s 50-60 item salad area and succulent selection of fire-roasted meats including lamb, picanha, filet mignon, chicken, pork, beef ribs and more carved tableside by costumed gauchos (servers). Dinner pricing varies per location.

Twin Peaks — will show its appreciation to its armed forces on November 11 with select free menu items. The items offered are Chicken Tenders, Ol’ Fashioned BLT, Cheeseburger and The Wedge Salad.

Academy Sports + Outdoors — Veterans, active-duty service members and their immediate family members get 10% off their entire purchase in-store and online from October 27 through November 11.

American Family Care — Military veterans get a free flu shot on November 11.

Enterprise Car Sales — Active-duty military members, veterans and their families get a Firestone Prepaid Maintenance Package with any used vehicle purchase during the entire month of November.

Goodyear Auto Service — Military members get free car care checks and free tire installation. Effective November 8 through 16, the free car care checks will include checks on tires, brakes, alignment, battery, wiper blades and shocks and struts. Active and retired military members will also receive free tire installation during the promotion period, creating a minimum savings of $25 per tire.

Grace for Vets — Car washes from around the world who join this program offer free car washes to veterans and service members on November 11.

Great Clips On November 11, veterans and current military members can visit a Great Clips salon to receive either a free haircut or the free haircut card to use at a later date. Non-military customers can purchase a service on Veterans Day and get a free haircut card to give to a veteran you know. Haircuts are redeemable until Dec. 31.

Home Depot — Home Depot offers a 10% discount to all veterans on November 11. Home Depot offers the 10% discount year round to for active duty and retirees.

Just Tires — Military members get free car care checks and free tire installation. Effective November 8 through 16, the free car care checks will include checks on tires, brakes, alignment, battery, wiper blades and shocks and struts. Active and retired military members will also receive free tire installation during the promotion period, creating a minimum savings of $25 per tire.

Publix — Veterans, active military personnel and their families save 10% on groceries on November 11.

Rack Room Shoes — Military personnel and their dependents get a 10% discount off entire purchase on November 11.

Sport Clips — Participating locations are offering veterans free haircuts on November 11.

T-Mobile — As Veterans Day approaches, T-Mobile announced that, starting November 1, active-duty military and veterans can get 50% off the latest Samsung smartphones, including the new Samsung Galaxy Note10 and Note10+. This is in addition to their Magenta Military plan, which includes 50% off family lines, available to military, veterans and their families year-round.

Verizon — As Veterans Day approaches, Verizon announced that active-duty military members, Reservists, cadets, Gold Star families and veterans can receive a 1-year membership of Amazon Prime when they add a new line of service. These customers are also eligible for Wireless and Fios discounts. The offer will run from October 24 to December 2. This is in addition to their year-round discounts on plans and accessories.


2019 Veterans Day Travel and Recreation Discounts

9/11 Memorial and Museum — Veterans will receive free Museum admission as well as half price museum tickets for up to two family members from November 8 to 14.

Alabama State Parks — Free admission to the parks that charge an entrance fee or day-use area fees for Veterans on November 11.

Birmingham Zoo — Veterans, active and retired military and their dependents will receive free admission on November 9 until 11.

Colonial Williamsburg — Military families can receive a free admission ticket during Veterans Day weekend.

La Quinta by Wyndham — From October 22 through December 5, any current or retired military personnel, veterans and their families who book and stay at La Quinta hotels in the U.S. and Canada can take advantage of a 15% off military discount.

Monticello — Veterans get complimentary admission November 9 through 11.

Montpelier — Veterans get free House tours and Museum Shop discounts November 8 through 11.

Mount Vernon — All active-duty, former, or retired military personnel are admitted for free on November 11.

National Parks — On November 11, veterans will have access to over 100 National Parks that require entrance fees for free.

National WWI Museum and Memorial — Admission is free for veterans and active-duty military personnel November 8 through 11.

Newseum — Veterans and active-duty members of the military plus one guest get free admission November 9 through 11.

Super 8 by Wyndham — Active and retired military members, veterans and their families can enjoy 20% off the Best Available Rate at participating Super 8 by Wyndham hotels. Plus, Wyndham Rewards members receive 500 bonus points. Book by December 5 and complete your stay by December 6.

The Alamo — Active-duty military and veterans get free tours on November 11.

West Virginia State Parks — Military personnel who have served or those currently in reserve or active-duty get 50% off regular lodge and cabin rates on stays between November 1 through November 15. Presentation of military or veteran status will be requested upon check in.

Westgate Resorts — Westgate Resorts is continuing the tradition of honoring eligible U.S. military personnel and their families by giving away 1,500 free vacations at Westgate Vacation Villas and Town Center Resort. Check back on November 11 at 9am EST to participate. Military Weekend will take place May 8 through 20, 2020.

World of Coca-Cola — Active duty, reserves and retirees get free admission year-round, and November 1 through 11, members of the Armed Forces may purchase up to four half-price general admission tickets for their friends and family.

Wyndham Hotels & Resorts — Active and retired military members, veterans, and their families save up to 20%, plus receive 500 Wyndham Rewards bonus points on stays through December 6.

Zoo Atlanta — Veterans, active-duty, retired and reserve members get free admission and $4 off general admission for up to six accompanying guests on November 11.
