Spring time in Alabama is amazing. As it warms up, we want to get outside and enjoy the weather before we melt in the summer sun. We compiled a list of the 7 best restaurant patio spaces in the Birmingham metro area.
1. Mudtown Eat and Drink

You can get down and dirty in Mudtown’s menu. It’s huge, much like the location’s outdoor space. Outdoor dining with their Chicken Parm sandwich, made with fried cheese sticks… yes, please.
2. Hotbox at Parkside

Hotbox at Parkside is a permanent food truck, serving up Asian fusion eats. There’s no indoor seating, so everything is fair game for your dining experience. The trees and tables are nestled within just the right amount of shade.
3. Carrigan’s Public House

One of the largest outdoor venues can be found at Carrigan’s Public House. There’s rooftop and ground level sitting areas. The elevated food bar is located on Historic Morris Avenue in downtown Birmingham. The menu has small and shareable foods like jalapeno boiled peanuts… to curried lamb melts…to beef tenderloin and garlic mashed potatoes. And don’t dare call them bartenders. The folks shaking drinks are mixologists.
4. FoodBar

You can bring Fido along to join you on the porch at FoodBar. Sit outside while you enjoy their menu, full of next level entrees seafood, pork roast, and Jarcuterie. The farm-to-table restaurant has ingredients to make the freshest cocktails to have outdoors.
5. Miss Dots

Feel like you’re sitting on your family porch when you head to Mountain Brook’s Miss Dots food & drink. It’s home to deliciously addictive chicken and southern classics like fried pickles, hot chicken, and tons of salads topped with all sorts chicken. All of that can be washed down with a seasonal margarita on the patio.
6. Real & Rosemary

With fans on the patio already boasting great shade, you’ll likely be able to enjoy Real & Rosemary through the hot summers. This Homewood location would be perfect for a girl’s night out with its light, healthy food offerings. They call them fast, casual dishes based around vegetables and lean protein.
7. Slice

For local flavor, pizza and beer, you can’t go wrong with Slice. The split-level patio gives you a great view of the Lakeview District.
