Birmingham Restaurant Week 2018

The Magic City is a culinary destination! Experience it for yourself August 10-19 with Birmingham Restaurant Week!

Birmingham Restaurant Week

The 9th annual Birmingham Restaurant Week (BRW) kicks off Friday, Aug. 10 to Sunday, Aug. 19, 2018.

Birmingham Restaurant Week-1

The 10-day event celebrates the city’s acclaimed culinary culture by offering incentives for Birmingham residents and visitors to revisit their favorite restaurants or try something new. This event celebrates the landmark eateries that helped earn Birmingham a spot as one of the “30 Most Exciting Food Cities in America 2017” by Zagat and high praise as a destination for “Top-Tier Drinking and Dining” by Wine Enthusiast. From fine dining to down-home cookin’, food lovers with a taste for adventure can enjoy special lunch or dinner prix-fixe menus. Prices range from $10, $15, $20, $30, or $40 per person – making it easy and affordable for everyone to enjoy a taste of Birmingham’s diverse dishes.

BRW gives 70-plus local restaurants the opportunity to showcase all the ways they are feeding the city. From filling vacant spaces and creating locally-sourced dishes to mentoring the next generation of culinary greats.  An all-new lineup of BRW 2018 events will showcase the cross-section between entrepreneurship and food-driven revitalization, taking food lovers behind the scenes to learn more about how their favorite restaurants add to Birmingham’s renaissance.

Details

The event schedule kicks off with Harvest Brunch on Saturday, Aug. 11 at Social Venture, located at 5529 1st Ave. S. in Woodlawn.

More than 20 BRW restaurants will serve brunch bites along with mimosas and Bloody Mary’s. Attendees have the opportunity to browse the Woodlawn Street Market happening the same day.

Message From BRW Founder

“Birmingham’s nickname of ‘the Magic City’ can certainly extend to its food community,” says James Little, BRW founder and district manager for REV. “We’ve always known Birmingham had a unique food culture, so we are pleased to offer this 10-day dining opportunity to the residents and restaurants of Birmingham who have helped shape that culture. From diners, chefs, culinary startups, Alabama farmers and food retailers alike, they’ve all had a hand in the food-driven revitalization and high praise of our city.”
