The “Alabama Snake” documentary highlights the story of Pentecostal minister Glenn Summerford, who was accused of attempted murder with a rattlesnake in Scottsboro, Alabama. Local historian Dr. Thomas Burton is featured in the film, providing expertise on the Pentecostal snake holders, as he paints the picture of Summerford’s investigation and trial that has haunted the area for decades.
Both Love, “Alabama Snake” director, as well as Bryan Storkel, producer, are alumni and longstanding attendees of Sidewalk Festival. In addition to the Dec. 3 event, their film will also premiere on HBO Max on Wednesday, Dec. 9.
