Back Forty first opened their doors three days before the last and final Sloss Fest. Brewery CEO, Douglas Brown, recalls a great energy around the festival despite the unfortunate weather delays.

“The cancellation of Sloss Fest has definitely left a void in the Sloss Furnace neighborhood.  As soon as we heard the news, we started planning how to fill that void with our own music event.”

With plenty of open space, Back Forty’s beer garden is ideal for an all-day festival.  Outside organizers recently put on an all-female music festival dubbed “Moonstone” which attracted nearly a thousand visitors to the venue, proving that the facility can be an attractive home for music and outdoor events.

“Our brewery is all about craft…award-winning craft food, craft beer and for that matter, the craft of creating a relaxing and welcoming atmosphere.  The Back Forty Social will be an exciting opportunity to open our doors to our friends who know Back Forty, as well as some new faces who have not yet hung out with us,” says Brown. “We purposely labeled the event as a “Social,” because that’s the goal at the end of the day: bring your friends and family, spread a big ol’ blanket on the lawn and enjoy the music…we’ll be sure to provide the beer, food and great vibe that Back Forty is known for!”

Partnering with Big Spring Entertainment, a proven and successful local Alabama entertainment group, was a matter of importance to Doug as an event of this size and scope has not been held before on the brewery grounds. Cameron Moss, project manager with Big Spring Entertainment says: “This event is going to be incredibly special from the moment the doors open on Saturday morning until the last note that night. Our talent lineup for a first-year festival is a great value to anyone at $40 and being able to see these amazing bands in a laid-back setting with quality food and beer is going to be an awesome experience for those in the area. As a Birmingham area resident, I know how great it is for the area to see another prominent event at a local brewery.”

Music artists appearing at The 2020 Back Forty Social include: Little Raine Band, Ryley Walker, Kitchen Dwellers, The Motet, The Soul Rebels, Keller Williams, and North Mississippi All-Stars. One additional “Super-Secret” act will be named early next year.

General Admission and VIP Tickets for the Back Forty Social are on sale now at Ticketmaster.com and on Back Forty’s website, with prices ranging from $40 to $85 advance purchase.
