Brat Brot to officially reopen next week with new features!

Brat Brot

Brat Brot is all set to officially re-open next Tuesday April 23rd at 4pm! The restaurant will feature a few changes from it’s last incarnation. It will now be called Brat Brot ‘GARTENBAR’ instead of ‘BIERGARTEN’. This is seemingly because Brat Brot will now be offering a full bar and according to an Instagram post ‘other imbibing options’. The post goes on to say that Barmeister Lindsey Drummond has been ‘hard at work fine tuning our Mischgetränke, Draft Cocktails, and Liqueur Flights.’

A new Brat Brot experience

The new incarnation of the restaurant will be more evening focused with hours on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday from 4pm until 11:30pm, Friday from 4pm until 12:30am, and all day on Saturday from 11am until 12:30am. Brat Brot will offer a full bar with 6 classic cocktails on tap, a revamped food menu, and some cozier seating options with casual table service inside. The Gartenbar will also be adult only (21+) at all times and will no longer be showing sports on the TVs with the exception of college football on Saturdays in the fall.

Brat Brot is also planning a bunch of fun activities and daily specials including more games outside, their popular stein hoisting competition, and a new late night brunch menu on Friday nights from 9pm until 11pm. Another significant change coming to Brot Brat is that of a new Executive Chef, Angela Schmidt.

The Instagram post about Schmidt reads:

‘Angela is a truly accomplished professional with over 20 years in the foodservice industry. She spent her formative years leading kitchens in top Birmingham restaurants before broadening her skills as a test kitchen professional, contributor to several cookbooks with Southern Living and Oxmoor House, and entrepreneurial pursuits including founding Chef U and operating as a restaurant consultant. In 2013, Angela partnered with prominent local restauranteurs Pardis Stitt and Becky Satterfield to charter a Birmingham chapter of Les Dames d’Escoffier. All of that and a German pedigree to boot. Get ready for some deliciousness.’

The new hours for Brat Brot GARTENBAR will be as follows:

Tuesday – Thursday: 4pm–11:30pm
Friday: 4pm–12:30am (brunch 10pm-midnight)
Saturday: 11am–12:30am
