Colby Jones from Durbin Farms Market shows us some super simple ways to slice a cantaloupe!

How to cut a cantaloupe:

Cantaloupe is a popular summer food and is understandably a staple of barbecue’s and cookouts! If you want to add a great snack at your next get together but you’ve never sliced a cantaloupe before, don’t worry! We’ve got a perfect guide on how to cut a cantaloupe that’s sure to help!

The first step is to cut the cantaloupe right down the center using a knife. Next, clean out the seeds from the center of the melon. Cut the two halves of the melon lengthwise into as many sections as you’d like, generally if you cut each half of the cantaloupe into three or four strips you should be good. Next, hold one of the strips of melon in one hand and make several horizontal slices across the meat of the cantaloupe. If you’d like your pieces to be really small make an additional cut lengthwise down the center of the piece. The last step is to make a final cut, this time a horizontal slice that cuts just above the green rind. This cut will release the cube like pieces of cantaloupe so make sure you perform this last cut over a bowl or serving dish! The only thing left to do is to serve and enjoy!
