Lucky Cat Rolled Creams in Homewood is permanently closing

Lucky Cat

Sad news for residents of Homewood and ice cream lovers throughout the Magic City as Lucky Cat Rolled Creams has announced via Facebook and Instagram that they are closing their doors for good this Thursday September 19.

The post from Lucky Cat on social media read as follows:

“With much sadness we announce our closing! It has been the most amazing adventure from first rolling ice cream with our kids in our kitchen, pop ups around town, our own FREAKIN store, brunch and finally lunch. We have loved every moment we have experienced with our community and staff. Your love and support has made this journey beautiful and joyous. We are sad to close this chapter, but feel it has been our family’s greatest achievement. We hope you will help celebrate Lucky Cat one last time this Thursday 9/19 from 5pm until we sell out. Help us go out with a bang.”

We here at Magic City Weekend are particularly sad to see Lucky Cat go! We’ve had a lot of fun eating their delicious ice cream and making fun videos with Hanna Slamen from Lucky Cat over the last couple of years.

She first helped us figure out just what is rolled ice cream? She gave Bakari Savage a hilarious crash course in how to make rolled ice cream. Magic City Weekend also got a sneak peek at Lucky Cat’s delicious new lunch menu when it debuted earlier this year.
