Mark’s Joint, a restaurant located in Homewood that billed itself as “more than just BBQ” has ceased business operations. First spotted on the What’s happening in Homewood Facebook Group, it appears that Mark’s Joint officially closed over the weekend.
While the website for Mark’s Joint remains up as of the time of this writing, the Facebook page and Instagram account have both been made unavailable with no statement regarding the cause for the restaurant’s closure.
Although Mark’s Joint was owner Mark Snyder’s first foray into the restaurant business, Snyder played a large part in helping launch Urban Cookhouse in 2010 and served various managerial and operational roles for the popular fast-casual brand since its opening. Mark’s Joint mainly served dishes comprised of brisket, spare ribs, and pulled pork. The slow-cooked meats were accompanied by several signature side items, and the menu itself offered unique twists on traditional barbecue fare, like authentic Mexican-inspired BBQ nachos, tacos, and soups.
