5 reasons to check out Hoover’s new chicken joint Super Chix

You can start the new year with a new chicken joint in Hoover. Super Chix opens its doors January 1 with a simply yet unique taken on chicken.

Construction of the new restaurant was recently completed in Hoover’s new rapidly expanding shopping center – Stadium Trace Village. It’s located on Highway 150 near I-459.

It’s never too early – or late – to eat at this chicken spot, but you’ll have to visit between 10:30 a.m. and 9 p.m. on weekdays (and 10 p.m. on Friday and Saturday).

If you’re thinking, “Oh, great, another chicken place,” then guess what? You’re wrong. Here are five reasons to check out Super Chix, where they say the chicken is super.

1. Say hello to ‘The Last True Chicken Sandwich’

You can’t have a true chicken sandwich without true chicken. Seems simple, right? Super Chix likes keeping it simple, though that doesn’t mean options are limited.

Super Chix has breaded and grilled sandwiches (as well as chicken tenders). The breaded sandwiches come as traditional or stacked as you’d like, with options ranging from a simple sandwich with kosher pickles to a crispy avocado sandwich. The grilled options include a Bacavo – that’s bacon, ranch and avocado – and a blackened Cajun.

2. You’ve had topping, but what about ‘top-notch’ toppings?

You don’t have to worry about sad, bland toppings at Super Chix. Vegetables are delivered whole and are sliced by hand.

Tomatoes are robust, pickles are fresh. Speaking of pickles, they also come traditional, kosher and fried.

3. Did someone say custard?

What’s a meal without a frozen, delicious treat afterward? Super Chix has pure vanilla and dutch chocolate flavors but also features cold fusions. Those flavors are Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup, Mint Oreo Cookies and Pretzel M&Ms.

Super Clix also has a Flavor of the Month, which add a little something to the custard. Flavors include Cookies N’ Cream, Nutter Butter, Butterfinger and Strawberry Shortcake.

4. A menu that keeps it simple

One good thing about Super Chix is you know what you’re getting. The menu has variety, but it’s simply chicken, fries, sides, custard and salads. It won’t take long to scan the menu before making a choice.

We’ve discussed the chicken sandwiches, but what about the salads? Well, they have chicken, too, in a variety of options. There’s the Southwest salad, a house salad, Nashville Hot salad, BBQ Texas salad and Buffalo Ranch salad.

And how about the fries and sides? The fries are hand-cut and include seasonings of salt, Signature Sweet, Rosemary Black Pepper or Cajun. The sides include fried pickles and cole slaw.

You can enjoy has Pepsi products, but that’s not all. Of course there’s also sweet and unsweet tea, but this chain is fancier than just the classics. Super Chix wants to expand your drink choice with Caleb’s Kola, Agave Vanilla Cream Soda, Classic Root Beer, Lemon Berry Acai and Black Cherry Tarragon.

5. Add another sandwich to your test taste!

In the ongoing debate of which restaurant chain has America’s best chicken sandwich, it would be an injustice to not add Super Chix to the lineup. After all, it is “The Last True Chicken Sandwich.”
